Colchester Globe / Expanded Colchester
The first image above is of colchester town made into a globe. I cut out old buildings of colchester and stuck them in a globe like form. i really like this piece because creates a very strange looking stucture.
The second piece is of colchester town again which was cutt up and expanded over two pages. i then filled in the gaps with buildings and quick sketches of other buildings. i then drew out the two bombers overhead with a combination of tetris cubes and bombs. I want to create a sense of comical value but still keeping the feeling of destruction and death.
The third image is of colchester castle which has been ripped up and expanded. ive then used inks to paint over some of the pieces to create an abstract feeling. Its creates the sense of old structures being new and modern by using colour.
The last image is of WWII spitfires doing another attack run on colchester using machine guns instead of bombs, however once again i have used tetris cubes for bullets. I feel this piece creates the sense of fast movement and aggression
